LA Race Praxis Network is about supporting the spirit of caring and service in communities that are too often unheard and unseen. The network is there to provide support offering skills, resources, knowledge that will help network members stabilize and grow their mission and people.
LA Race Praxis Group
LA Race Praxis network formed in the summer of 2022 inspired to displace racial violence with racial bridge work. The deaths of George Floyd along with growing anti-immigrant public discourse, the random shootings that seemed to target Asians, led to the creation of a community response of unity, sharing, and exploration of ways that are part of our cultural lineages. The original idea was to grow a network of small nonprofit organizations that were spreading love on to their communities through programs and activities that included urban hikes to practice yoga, sober living socials, youth entreprenuership in Watts, organizing for wellness and self-care in the neighborhood known as Skid Row, and stopping gun violence targetting Black bodies, and suppring reentry and support for formerly incarcerated Asians and Pacific Islanders.
Our hearts, minds, and spirit of love and compassion honor the original network: Hike to Yoga, Valor Rising, Cease Fire, Skid Row People’s Market, Ambassadors of Watts, API RISE. They are still connected, still doing the work, and have found a place of radical hospitality in this network that is waiting to be nurtured and grown.
